Marilyn Shank, Vice President, is an accredited public relations professional. Projects she has accomplished for Shank Public Relations Counselors’ clients include:
- Consultation on bond issues and other communication for Indianapolis Public Schools (in association with Schmidt Associates), MSD of Wayne Township, MSD of Decatur Township, MSD of Perry Township, Fort Wayne Community Schools, Frankfort Community Schools, Lake Central School Corporation, Southwest Allen County Schools, Anderson Community Schools and the MSD of Warren Township. The 2001 community relations program on behalf of Indianapolis Public Schools earned a national award of excellence from the Public Relations Society of America.
- Public relations programs for Central Soya, Cerestar USA, Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, the Smart Talk lecture series, American Senior Communities, GTE Wireless (now Verizon), Sunbeam Development Corporation, the Danville (Ill.) Public Library, and a major law firm.
- Projects for Wal-Mart, the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents, Lourdes Hospital, Fairbanks, H.J. Umbaugh & Associates, the IPL Golden Apple Awards, Planned Parenthood, Christian Homes, Inc., artist Peter Max, the Edyvean Repertory Theatre, Ballet Internationale, and the Domestic Violence Network.
- Coordination and supervision of special events such as grand opening’s for Dick’s Sporting Goods, The Home Depot, Indiana Automotive Fasteners and TOA USA; GTE Wireless reprogramming fairs; and special events for Washington Park Cemeteries.
Marilyn was president of the Hoosier Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America in 1997 and the 2006 chair of the PRSA East Central District. She has served on the advisory board of the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, the Art Collection Initiative Task Force for Indianapolis Public Schools, on the Executive Council of the Indiana University Alumni Association and the boards of Theatre on the Square, the Indiana Parent Teachers Association (PTA) and Speedway Christian Church. Marilyn earned the Extra Mile Award from the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township for three consecutive years in 1992 through 1994. Marilyn is a graduate of Indiana University – Bloomington.
